Preserve BAMs Historic District (PBHD) with renowned Attorney Michael Gruen, has just filed a lawsuit against the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) on December 3rd,2020. In our Article 78 petition (in this case, PBHD and 52 plaintiffs) we are asking the NY State Supreme court to review our challenge to the LPC’s decision to Certify a HUGE 24 story skyscraper at 130 St Felix. There were more than 100 community residents and many historic preservation organizations protesting this plan submitted by the developer Gotham Organization and its architect FX Collaborative.
Our filing: Index 160481/2020 is about to go live and the Respondent-namely the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission will have the opportunity to respond; then PBHD will file our response before the formal hearing. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

This proposed building is still only on paper as architectural drawings. We are determined to keep it to the contextual height respecting the mid-19th Century character of St Felix and the surrounding Fort Greene blocks. PBHD is just beginning this fight, and it takes funding. Help us be 100% ready to stand before a New York State Supreme Court Judge and defend our neighborhood!
